NAS Tillamook

Blimp Squadron ZP-33 (Hangar A) Welcome to Naval Air Station Tillamook, a now inactive blimp base located on the coast of Western Oregon. This website is the culmination of both research and interviews, which has led to the most comprehensive collection of information about NAS Tillamook, available on the Internet.

Before you begin your historic adventure, there are a few considerations that we would like to share with you. First, many photographs were originally in a black-and-white format, and in some cases, artistic liberty was used when applying light coloration. In addition, all images are linked to special windows. Simply click on an image, and a larger version of the image, as well as additional background information will be provided.

With this said, we now invite you to explore the fascinating history and the exciting role that this unique navy blimp base, and others like her, served during World War II.
